Making sense of evaluation at Laudes Foundation
At Laudes Foundation, we are committed to becoming a learning organisation, placing shared learning at the heart of our work with partners. Guided by our principles to “Balance data, Evidence and Intuition” and “Act, Reflect, Learn, Improve”, we aim to foster a culture where learning is continuous, intentional, and grounded in evidence and experience.
To support this, we use Developmental Evaluation (DE) to help us stay adaptive, ensuring that our strategy evolves based on evidence and experience, not assumptions. In short, DE acts as both a critical mirror and a compass: reflecting what’s really happening and helping us navigate toward greater impact.
In this mini podcast below, Lee Risby, Director of Effective Philanthropy, narrates how we at Laudes examine if we’re making changes and impact across our four focus industries. Lee walks you through our thinking and approach, illustrating this through our ‘evidence boards’ from the previous year that evaluate the impact of our funding choices up to 2024.
