Laudes partner receives top USA government recognition

Our partner, Centro de los Derechos del Migrante (CDM), has received incredible recognition for its work advancing justice for migrant workers with the 2022 Presidential Award for Extraordinary Efforts to Combat Trafficking in Persons. .

Statement from the CDM:

An incredible honor! CDM was just awarded the 2022 Presidential Award for Extraordinary Efforts to Combat Trafficking in Persons "for its outstanding record of assisting thousands of migrant workers to defend their rights and its years of tireless advocacy and organizing to advance a more just and humane migration process free of forced labor and other forms of exploitation.”

This award belongs to everyone who has contributed to CDM: staff, board members, interns, alums, volunteers, donors, supporters and allies. But above all, to migrant workers who, despite the barriers, decide to speak out against abuse and fight for justice.

Thank you to President Biden, Secretary of State Antony Blinken and the President’s Interagency Task Force to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons for this honor. We will continue to fight, alongside migrant workers, for a labor migration system that is fair, equitable and respectful of the human rights of migrant workers and their families.
